Photos Jan 11-15 Contrast and Affinity (Mostly with Tone)

I liked the difference in the lines with the zigzagging glass and the curving desks.

This light appears outside my apartment complex, and I liked the contrast with the light above the "creature", and the black on the right. And what's that little blue thing?

This example has a lot of extreme tonal contrast, and I like the black of the box with the white of the dials.

I took this picture in black and white expecting to find an example in affinity, but was surprised that in black and white, there is a high level of contrast.

As with the photo above, these are the blinds in my apartment. They are all extremely similar in color, but in black and white a larger contrast is brought. I learned a lot about the contrast black and white add when color is taken out.

  1. There is so much going on in photo3, I want to know what everything does. I love the simple color scheme and symmetry of shapes throughout. I like that nothing is quite in focus, it adds to the old feel.

  2. Photo #3 feels liked ordered chaos. I'm interested in the contrast not only between the black and white, but also the straight lines and the circular buttons/knobs. Very cool shot.

  3. Your last photo of the blinds is a great example of tone and value. The white to gray to black. It is interesting how light works on the same subject. The affinity of the material yet the contrast of lighting is great.

  4. I really like the contrast in the fourth photo. I'm also surprised that a white snowflake on an white background would end up having so much contrast, but it does, and it looks cool. Also, I like the straight line in the second photo that divides the light from the darkness. Really adds to the creepiness of the photo.
